What are your plans for the summer?
I am so looking forward to spending 3 weeks in Tampa teaching for Next Generation Ballet’s Summer Intensive! I will teach young dancers between the ages 12 – 18 from July 5-23, 6 days a week, 3 to 4 classes a day.

Seit Sommer 2017 bist Du Ballettmeisterin beim Staatsballett Berlin, nachdem Du Deine aktive Karriere als Prima Ballerina beendet hast. Viele Ballettliebhaber wissen nicht so genau, was eine Ballettmeisterin eigentlich macht. Beschreibe doch bitte Dein Tätigkeitsfeld und erzähle uns über Deine Tänzerkarriere.
Als Ballettmeisterin coache ist vor allem Tänzerinnen und Tänzer und studiere das Repertoire mit ihnen ein. Jeden Morgen gebe ich ein 1.5-stündiges Training zum Aufwärmen. Danach studiere ich bis zum Abends verschiedenste Ballette mit einzelnen Solisten oder auch Gruppen ein. Da wir momentan Corona bedingt 8 verschiedene Gruppen haben, die über den Tag verteilt individuell proben müssen, haben wir viel Mehrarbeit.

I just wanted to give you a quick update for 2021 as COVID did not totally stop this non-profit organization although some projects obviously had to be put on hold. New activities happened last year in New Zealand (primary school), Morocco (orphanage), Paris (hospital Necker and young migrants).
This year THE WHAT DANCE CAN DO PROJECT started weekly ballet classes for underprivileged children in Tunis Tunisia. Also they will launch in June a partnership with a new hospital in Paris, George Pompidou. In Fall Aurélia Sellier hopes to be able to resume her work with Kinderspital in Zurich, a hospital in Bruxelles and hopefully start projects in the UK, perhaps with the Royal Ballet in London. This organization was recognized of public interest in Switzerland (all donations are deductible) and now is in the process of registering in France and New Zealand.

You are an outstanding dancer and artist who is looking for new challenges. What inspires you?
I really believe in the art form of ballet and dance. Aesthetically, dramatically, physically, culturally it has so much to offer, so what drives me is the desire to tap into as much of its potential as possible and to share it with people, get others inspired from it and with that to appreciate it.
I found this amazing video of the Royal Ballet on Youtube and want to share it with you the science of how dancers learn choreography. What happens in the dancer’s brain? How does dance effect the brain?
The Royal Ballet Company loves to enriching people’s lives through ballet. It offers a lot for all ballet lovers, digital and learning platforms for young people and adults, international touring, ROH live cinema every season all over the world. Ballet production were regularly streamed online. In times of covid 19 the Royal Opera started a fanatic program for free to please all ballet fans.

Eric Gauthier ist DER TANZBEGEISTERER. Fraglos ist er einer der beeindruckendsten Tänzer und innovativsten Choreografen weltweit. Was ihn aber ganz besonders macht, ist sein Elan und seine Kreativität, den Tanz als Kunstform, Aktivität und Inspiration möglichst vielen Menschen nahe zu bringen. Sein Motto lautet: Jeder Mensch kann tanzen. Tanzen macht glücklich. Gerne stelle ich Euch einige seiner aktuellen Projekte vor.
Motivation im jetzigen verlängerten Lookdown schafft Eric Gauthier für seine Company Gauthier Dance mit diesem einzigartigen Vorhaben. Der „sterbende Schwan“ ist ein weltberühmtes Ballettsolo und bestens geeignet, die Botschaft „Kunst lässt sich nicht aufhalten“ zu verbreiten. 64 renommierte Künstler*innen aus den Sparten Tanz, Choreographie, Musik und Film konnten in kürzester Zeit begeistert werden. Das Tanzprojekt besteht ganz coronakonform aus 16 Solos – für jedes Company-Mitglied wird eine Neukreation geschaffen. Die Videoclips sind dann kostenlos auf den Social Media-Kanälen des Theaterhaus Stuttgart und Gauthier Dance abrufbar. Der Probenstart hat gerade begonnen. Ich werde weiter darüber berichten.
Weiterlesen „Eric Gauthier: TANZ-Begeisterung schafft Begeisterte“Als der südafrikanische Choreograf John Cranko 1961 in Stuttgart Ballettdirektor wurde, begann der Aufstieg des Stuttgarter Balletts. Mit seinem sicheren Gespür für Talente engagierte Cranko erstklassige Tänzerinnen und Tänzer wie Egon Madsen, Richard Cragun, Birgit Keil, Susanne Hanke und allen voran Marcia Haydée. Seine abendfüllenden Handlungsballette begeisterten Publikum und Kritiker gleichermassen. Cranko gilt als genialer Erneuerer des klassischen Balletts.
Mit seinen beiden gefeierten Choreografien „Romeo und Julia„und „Onegin“ ging die Kompagnie 1969 auf die erste USA-Tournee – ein grosses Risiko für das damalige unbekannte Stuttgarter Ballett. „Entweder tot oder gross“kommentierte Cranko seine Chancen, vor dem anspruchsvollen New Yorker Publikum zu bestehen. Bereits die Premiere wurde ein voller Erfolg. Alle weiteren Vorstellungen waren total ausverkauft. Seitdem spielt das Stuttgarter Ballet in der ersten Ballett-Liga mit.
