Berührendes Musiktheater von Christian Spuck
Uraufführung MONTEVERDI 15. Januar 2022
Christian Spucks letzte abendfüllende Premiere am Opernhaus Zürich – bevor er 2023 Ballettdirektor am Staatsballett Berlin wird- widmet sich den Madrigalen und Lamenti von Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643). Dieses umfassende Werk von Gesang, Tanz und instrumentalen Teilen bezeichnet der Choreograf selbst als Musiktheater. Neben dem Ballettensemble wirken sieben hervorragende Sängerinnen und Sänger sowie das gefeierte Orchestra la Scintilla unter der Leitung von Riccardo Minasi mit. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Liebesschmerz und Welttraurigkeit und eine beklemmende Melancholie.

The Royal Ballet’s spectacular Nutcracker to be streamed

Due to resource challenges caused by the Omicron COVID-19 variant, performances of The Nutcracker between Tuesday 21 December 2021 and Monday 3 January 2022 (inclusive) were cancelled. Ticket bookers for all affected performances have been contacted by Box Office.
The Nutcracker has long been one of the most delightful ways to discover the enchantment of ballet and makes for a sparkling festive treat for the whole family. Tchaikovsky’s much-loved music is matched to a story of magic on Christmas Eve, and the journey of Clara and her Nutcracker to the Land of Sweets brings with it some of the most familiar of all ballet moments.
Peter Wright’s gorgeous production for The Royal Ballet keeps true to the spirit of this Russian ballet classic, and the many solo roles and ensembles show the world-class skills of the Company at its best.
