The Wilis have been through worst
This funny video of the Australian Ballet is worth watching. Most Ballet Lovers know the ultimate romantic classical ballet GISELLE. The second Act tells the legend about the Wilis, ghosts of young maidens who died of grief after their love was betrayed. Now Myrtha, the queen of the willis motivates them to do what they do best: Dancing Giselle – even in quarantine!
The Australian Ballet company reveals it has a wonderful sense of humor in this scripted video, which retells the famous plot of Giselle as though it has just unfolded. “Ladies, something serious happened, which we got all on tape,” says dancer Isobelle Dashwood on a Zoom call with her fellow ballerinas. “So there’s this dude, Albrecht…he waltzes on into the village and he’s all like, ‘Hey, Giselle, I love you. I swear my eternal love for you.…’ And she’s like, ‘Whoa, man, don’t swear your eternal love for me unless you really really mean it.…’ (Source Australian Ballet)
