What Wilis Do in Quarantine😉

The Wilis have been through worst

This funny video of the Australian Ballet is worth watching. Most Ballet Lovers know the ultimate romantic classical ballet GISELLE. The second Act tells the legend about the Wilis, ghosts of young maidens who died of grief after their love was betrayed. Now Myrtha, the queen of the willis motivates them to do what they do best: Dancing Giselle – even in quarantine!

The Australian Ballet company reveals it has a wonderful sense of humor in this scripted video, which retells the famous plot of Giselle as though it has just unfolded. “Ladies, something serious happened, which we got all on tape,” says dancer Isobelle Dashwood on a Zoom call with her fellow ballerinas. “So there’s this dude, Albrecht
he waltzes on into the village and he’s all like, ‘Hey, Giselle, I love you. I swear my eternal love for you.
’ And she’s like, ‘Whoa, man, don’t swear your eternal love for me unless you really really mean it.

Albrecht’s a cheater and he has to pay. The wilis are home in quarantine, but they’re getting mad together, corps-de-ballet style. While dancers of The Australian Ballet aka the Wilis are staying at home, they decide that revenge is an essential. After all, they’re dead already
A standing ovation to the creative team: Written, choreographed and directed by Garen Scribner and Danielle Rowe Produced and edited by Reneffolson Productions

I danced ballet as child, albeit with little success. Despite this, my passion for ballet and dance has carried into adulthood. I still love to watch ballet performances and would love to share my passion with you.
